About Me

I grew up in metropolitan New York and was exposed to the Arts from an early age. I was attracted to color and pattern with an interest in fashion design.

I have a BS in Fashion Design from the University of Cincinnati.

My husband Greg and I have raised a family in Hudson, and returned to my art interests while our kids were growing up. I’ve taken courses at the Danforth Museum of Art, and Worcester Art Museum and earned a Basic Art Certificate from the Danforth Museum School in Framingham, MA. This inspired me to study studio art and art history at Framingham State (College) University where I successfully completed nine courses. I also took a graduate level class on the Arts of India at Clark University in Worcester, MA.

Currently, I am a sewing teacher at Assabet After Dark in Marlborough during the school year. My teaching experience began with a few students at home and then at several after school programs in Hudson and Sudbury. I’ve also taught children at the Worcester Art Museum and Danforth Museum of Art. I worked for the Arts Alliance and held several positions with the organization, including art instructor at drama workshops and Arts AfterSchool, as arts coordinator and visual art director. I also worked for the Assabet Valley Chamber of Commerce  and at St. Michael’s School in Hudson, where I taught 7th & 8th grade art.

My pastels, watercolor, and mixed media collage work were in juried and non-juried exhibits. I moved on to making art quilts with a renewed interest in fabric, including batiks. My interest in fashion sewing resumed and I’ve learned to combine my art knowledge with sewing and fashion.

Eclectica Designs is my sewing and design business.  I specialize in sewing and hand painting on silk. The silk can be from kimonos or white silk for hand painting. Scarves, wall art and wraps are made from the silk fabric. All of my creations are custom and unique.  My work can be found at Serendipity, Hudson, MA.

All of my creations are custom and unique.

I offer individual classes in sewing, and fashion drawing from ages 12 and up.
